Why Volunteer?

Aside from a sense of reward from helping others, there are great benefits from hospice volunteering:

  • Learn new skills
  • Meet new people
  • Flexible hours – we have a minimum of 3 hours per week, but after that, it is completely up to you!

What do hospice volunteers do?

There are many ways that you can get involved when it comes to volunteering at WSB.

Most roles require a regular commitment, usually a minimum of 3-4 hours, but many of our volunteers give much more of their time.

Hospice events

Perfect for those that wish to work on a more ad-hoc basis. These involve engaging with the public and ensuring the safe enjoyment of those taking part. Please take a look at our selection of volunteering opportunities and see if any pique your interest.

Volunteer in your own way

Maybe you have something completely different to offer? Perhaps you have a passion for flowers, a flair for photography or a knack for DIY. Whatever it may be, if you think it could help out, then please get in touch with us.

We look forward to meeting you!

Please note, all applicants must be over 16 years or over, and all roles involve completing an application form with two references. Also, some roles may require a criminal record check through either DBS or Disclosure Scotland.
