Barry Quinn RN
Director or Nursing and Senior International Lecturer
Dr Quinn joined the hospice in August 2017 from Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, where he had been the Assistant Director of Nursing.
Barry’s experience includes being the Consultant/Lead Nurse Cancer and Palliative care at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He was also the Lead Nurse Oncology and Clinical Research for St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Clinician/Lecturer Cancer at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and he was the Senior Nurse Haematology at the University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Barry is a Doctor of Philosophy [PhD], Health and Education, he holds a Diploma in Community Studies and he is a CLAHRC Fellowship member in End of Life Care, as well as having a number of very prestigious degrees and post graduate qualifications. He is also the Chair of Managing Advanced Cancer Pain Together [MACPT], the Chair of European Oral Care in Cancer [EOCC], a Consultant Editor for RCNI’s Nursing Management, as well as being a highly regarded senior lecturer for King’s Colleague London and the University of Surrey. Clinically, Barry has been a consultant in restorative dentistry since 2004 and a specialist in prosthodontics, periodontics and endodontics since 1999.
