Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care is a patient-centred charity that delivers specialist palliative care to adult patients of all ages who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses. We provide free of charge holistic care and support services for patients, their families and carers, across North West Surrey that have a combined population of over 360,000.
We are a charity, and while we receive some government funding, around 75% of what we deliver is generated through our charity shops and fundraising activities. We could not do this without the generosity of all of our supporters, volunteers and the local community. Therefore each year we need to raise in excess of £8 million from voluntary income, which you so generously help us to achieve.
You really do make a difference!
Like many charities we are reliant on voluntary income. For every £5 of costs incurred we need to raise £4 to be able to continue to deliver care and support to approximately 800 patients and their families at any one time.
A month pays for an in-patient meal or refreshments in the Wellbeing Centre.
Donation from a coffee morning paid for counselling or bereavement support.
Of your donations gives one hour of care to a patient in the community
Of your fundraising efforts pays for 24 hours of an in-patient's care.
