We care because you care
Providing specialist care to thousands of patients each year both at the Hospice and within the community presents many financial and logistical challenges and our staff rise to meet those challenges every single day.
In the year ahead we will continue to work with our partners and supporters to find new ways of delivering our services to Surrey families in the most effective way and to ensure we can continue to deliver the care that you would want for yourself and your family.
Less than half of our funding comes from the public purse. As a registered charity we could not continue to operate without the generosity of our supporters and volunteers.
In December, we were inspected by the Care Quality Commission and received a glowing report with Inspectors commenting that it was clearly normal practice for our staff 'to go the extra mile' - and that is so true! We are all proud of our association with Woking and Sam Beare and know only too well the difference that we can make to help patients with life-limiting conditions - which you can read in this leaflet.
The wife of one of our recent patients told us how our holistic care and teamwork made a difference: “There are three things that are certain - you are born, you live and you die. The Hospice gave my husband, myself and my family the most incredible support. My husband died peacefully and with dignity and I was able to become his wife again and not his carer."
Our CEO, like hundreds of other volunteers, gives her time free, on a non-salaried basis to ensure that as much money as possible goes directly into patient care. Through your donations, you will be helping us to plan and develop our services.
On behalf of every single member of the team here at Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and all the families we are able to care for we would like to thank you for your continued support.
