On Thursday 16th November the Sam Beare Charity shop and book shop celebrated ten years of trading on Weybridge High Street where they have been raising funds and awareness for both the hospices.
To mark this special occasion the Mayor and Consort, Councillor Rachael Lake and Ian Lake visited both shops along with Micheal Aspel Patron to the charities. They met and chatted with members of staff and the team of volunteers who help run these wonderful shops.
“The shops are a real asset to the high street” commented Mayor Rachel Lake ” The window displays always look beautiful and the staff are very helpful”.
Visitors to the shops were treated to goody bags and thanked for their support, most were shocked it was ten years they had been open and complemented the staff and the quality of the items available.
“Although the original Sam Beare Hospice Building has closed the community team is still based in Weybridge and they are an integral part of the care we deliver” commented Liz Cussans HR & Volunteer Services Director “Over 70% of the care we provide is in the patients own homes by our community teams 365 days of the year”.
