Sunday 26 April 2020 would have been the 40th London Marathon, a day when runners pound the streets of London raising thousands of pounds for charities each year. But along with many other mass participation events this has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 2.6 Challenge will see the UK coming together to help raise money for charities up and down the country. Beginning this Sunday you can be a hospice hero and take on your own challenge using the numbers 2.6 or 26 the number of miles run in a marathon.
Your challenge can be any activity you like, – whether that’s doing 'the plank' for 2.6 minutes, baking 26 cookies or a run, hop or jump for 26 minutes, it’s up to you what you do. There are no rules – apart from keeping safe, having lots of fun and following Government guidelines
You can take part in this UK-wide challenge in your living room, bedroom, garden or wherever in your home suits your challenge the best. And you can get creative and have a lot of fun at the same time. we would love to see you taking on your challenges so please don’t forget to share what you do on social media using #TwoPointSixChallenge and mentioning Woking and Sam Beare Hospice.
If taking part in an activity isn’t for you but you’d still like to be part of the The 2.6 Challenge, then why not make a donation instead and maybe donate what you are saving by clicking here
So whatever you choose to do for The 2.6 Challenge, we’d like to say thank you for supporting your local hospice.
