We are very grateful to the Hospital Saturday Fund for their generous donation in support of the Bradbury Wellbeing Centre at Woking Hospice, the cheque was presented to us by Mr John Greenwood and the funds will be used for observation equipment and funding for day care sessions.
Our Bradbury Wellbeing Centre provides a range of treatments and therapies for day patients, and a valuable support framework for patients who are able to live at home, but need additional help. It offers a warm, caring environment, where time is available to talk about any concerns and socialise with those in similar circumstances in the surrounds of the hospice’s beautifully designed gardens.
Paul Jackson, Chief Executive of The Hospital Saturday Fund commented “The Hospital Saturday Fund is delighted to once again support Woking and Sam Beare Hospices with funding towards their vital work. Having supported this organisation with funding for a number of years, we are greatly aware of the excellent work being done through the provision of care and support to patients and their carers in Surrey .”
About The Hospital Saturday Fund:
The Hospital Saturday Fund is a UK charity that was founded in 1873 by pioneers in social and philanthropic work to help people to afford medical care. In recent times, the Fund has ‘tailored’ its benefits and these are now offered through HSF health plan, one of the leading health cash plans in the UK and Ireland. Profits from the trading company, HSF health plan, are chanelled into the ‘parent’ charity, The Hospital Saturday Fund, to enable charity donations to be made. In 2018 the Hospital Saturday Fund will give £1.2 million in donations and grants to medical charities, hospices and hospitals across the UK and Ireland. Assistance will also be given to individuals whose illness or disability has caused financial difficulties. The charity has its Head Office in London and also has an office in Ennis, Co. Clare, Ireland. www.hospitalsaturdayfund.org
