Hippy crazy and lots of love was the theme for this years Laughing Stock Festival in Shepperton, organised by Linda Jagger in support of Woking & Sam Beare Hospices.
Fantastic entertainment was provided by some top local bands including JJ Band, All Beats, Grooveline, the Rifftakers and Daft as well as a host of solo acts featuring singer guitarist Lana Jagger that ensured hippy’s from across Surrey enjoyed an amazing festival atmosphere which raised over £20,000 for the hospices.
“This has been the best year yet with the tickets selling out in a matter of days” commented Linda Jagger, organiser of Laughing Stock Festival “It’s such a memorable community event everyone had a fabulous time and we are so pleased to raise such vital funds for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices cared for my wonderful dad at home when he was suffering from terminal cancer”.
The money raised came mainly from the festival itself but also an amazing £2000 was donated by John Baldwin and Dave Mower from a sponsored walk.
The event couldn’t take place without the generous support of partners and sponsors including Ed Davis, Landscaping and Bar, WLX Productions for staging and lighting, Dizzy Blond Productions for sound crew, Tyrone and crew for stewarding, Curchods Riverside, Ultra Ice and The Stunning Tents Company Stunning, a great team who provide amazing funky stretch and tipi tents for outside events
“We are extremely grateful for the ongoing support from Linda and the Laughing Stock Festival” commented Phil Wormley, Director of Fundraising “It is am amazing amount of money they have raised for us, last year we cared for over 2,000 patients, carers and their families and with support like this we are able to continue to provide this care across North West Surrey”.
