Hippy, crazy and lots of love was the theme for this years Laughing Stock Festival held on the riverside in Shepperton in aid of Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care,
Organisers Linda and Jon Jagger were overwhelmed by the turnout for the sold out event. Local bands and solo artists performed including Daft, who also are playing at the Hospices Annual Dove Ball in November, Never the Bride, Tree House Fire, The JJ Band, Grooveline, Odette Adams, Heidi Jagger and Lana Jagger.
“Not only did everyone have a fabulous time, we also raised much needed funds for the hospice who cared for my wonderful dad at home when he was very ill, he could not have received better care” commented Linda Jagger “The amount raised this year was £21,067 which takes the total funds raised from laughing Stock Festivals to almost £65,000. We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who helped make this years event such a success”.
There was plenty for all ages to enjoy on the day with walk about acts, hippy stalls, art stalls, face painting and a delicious freshly cooked paella.
“We are so grateful for the continued support the Laughing Stock Team have provided to the hospice” commented Phil Wormley, Director of Fundraising Woking & Sam Beare Hospice “The money they have raised is equivalent to providing over 1000 hours of care to our patients in the community which is just incredible”.
On behalf of Laughing Stock we would like to thank the generous sponsors of this years event Foxhills Country and Golf Club, McLaren, Curchods Estate Agents, RFU Pearmanin Pubs, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Q Apartments and Ultra Ice.
