We are delighted that Kelly’s Storage Charity Events have chosen Woking & Sam Beare Hospices as one of the charities benefiting from their Kelly’s Run Together Apart & Kelly’s Walk Together Apart ‘virtual’ events.
Kelly’s Storage Charity Events have come up with an innovative idea for charitable giving. Unable to hold their usual live fundraising events due to the Covid 19 pandemic they are nevertheless continuing to offer opportunities to people to keep up their exercise and at the same time help, in a small way, different local charities. The events are designed as an incentive for people to do their daily exercise & to give it a sense of purpose. They can help keep entrants fit & well, both physically & mentally at the same time as helping others.
Moira Martin Director, Kelly’s Storage Charity Events said “We have been providing huge fundraising opportunities for different local charities since 2010 & have raised over £650,000. It’s easy to sign up online, set a target distance to complete by the end of May, then run or walk on their own wherever, whenever and whatever distance they chose. The challenges can start anytime but need to be completed by the end of May. We ask entrants to make a small donation of which 100%, goes to local charities, we deduct no costs & make no transaction charges”.
Kerry Bennett, Marketing & Communications Director at Woking & Sam Hospice said “This is such a fantastic initiative and something that will keep us all occupied while in lock down. We are very grateful to Kelly’s Storage Charity Events for choosing us as one of the beneficiaries at a time when our team are working hard in support of our NHS colleagues as we care for some of the most vulnerable patients in our community – thank you. ”
