On the 12th May every year International Nurses Day is celebrated. It is as an opportunity to acknowledge the fantastic work that our Nurses do here at Woking and Sam Beare Hospice and all the Nurses that contribute to society around the world.
It is marked on this date as it is Florence Nightingales birthday, probably the words most famous nurse. We are extremely proud of our team of nurses at Woking & Sam Beare Hospices and the exceptional care and compassion they provide in the hospice and in Patients own homes out in the community.
“Working as a nurse at a hospice is very different to other nursing roles” commented Marty Williams Interim Director of Nursing “Our team of nurses provide amazing support and care in what can be a very difficult time for our patients and families”.
Another one of our amazing nurses is Shelagh Musoke, who began her training in 1980 and has been working for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices for the last six years. “I feel really proud to be part of such an wonderful group of nurses” commented Shelagh “Working at the hospice is the first time in my career I have felt at home and I knew this was the perfect job for me”.
