We are hosting an information evening on Wednesday 4 July ahead of the 2019 Vietnam Trek and Community Project. The 12 day overseas challenge, which will take place from the 23 March to the 3 April 2019, it gives you the opportunity raise funds for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices, whilst also supporting a vital community project in northern Vietnam.
“It’s the adventure of a lifetime,” explains Events Fundraising Executive Nicole Sallis, who herself took part in a similar project in Nepal in 2017. “It can be quite physically demanding, but it’s also an amazing experience, which helps us raise essential funds for our care here in Surrey. I recommend that those interested register already now, so they can reach their fundraising and fitness targets, but also so they can plan and enjoy the build up to the departure,” adds Nicole.
The trip will include assisting local villagers with a community project before embarking on the trek itself. Participants will walk through remote villages in the Pu Luong Nature Reserve in Northern Vietnam, where they will stay local stilt houses, allowing them a unique insight into the classic lifestyle of the ethnic minority people of the area.
Registration for the 12 day challenge is £315.00 with two funding options, self-funded and charity fundraising. You can find out more by visiting www.wsbhospices.co.uk/trekvietnam or email Nicole and the challenge events team: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are interested in finding out more you are invited to attend the free information event at Woking Hospice on the 4 July from 5:30pm. There will be a presentation followed by a Q&A, as well as refreshments.
