The Woking & Sam Beare Hospice Golf Society has been “Playing for Good” for 5 years and since it began in 2016 has helped to raise over £200,000 which is a significant achievement.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved in the Golf Society. The Players, Golf Clubs and Sponsors have all played their part in reaching this amazing milestone” – said Phil Wormley Director of Fundraising “I would also like to say a special thank you to Julian Wakeling, Tony Jarvis and Malcom Wells for all their hard work over the last five years bringing these golf days together and we look forward to the next five years of fantastic golf days and fundraising”.
Charity golf days have not only helped to raise vital funds for the Hospice but they have also provided an exceptional opportunity to engage with our local community helping to raise awareness of the work and care the hospice provides to the community across North West Surrey.
Recent golf days have been held at the following golf clubs New Zealand, West Hill, Woking, Hindhead, Hankley Common, Foxhills and The Berkshire
“The Golf Society have exciting plans for 2022 and if you would like to be part of something special either participating as a player, as a Sponsor or a Golf Club hosting a charity day for us then please do get in touch” – Julian Wakeling – Volunteer Golf Ambassador for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices and Founder/Trustee The Health & Wellbeing Charitable Golf Trust.
