The snow does not prevent our team of clinical specialists from reaching our most in need patients thanks to the volunteers from the Surrey 4×4 Response.
Surrey 4×4 Response is a registered charity formed of trained and vetted 4×4 owners who volunteer their time and use of their vehicles in adverse weather.
Jayne Cooper, CEO of Woking & Sam Beare Hospices, comments: “Over 70% of our care is delivered across the Surrey community in patients’ homes. This is a lifeline for many of the families that our team of clinical specialists carer for. The service that the fabulous 4X4 volunteers provide to healthcare providers like us is therefore so vital. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for getting our team to patient homes throughout today.”
We have two community teams. The Sam Beare Community Team are based in Weybridge and the Woking Community Team work out of Woking Hospice. Together these healthcare professionals care for as many as 600 patients at any one time across six Surrey Boroughs.
The bad weather across the UK has caused considerable disruption and having organisations made up of volunteers providing such critical services is invaluable. For more information about Surrey 4×4 Response please visit their website www.surrey4x4response.org.
