In 2018 Emily's mum, Regine, spent her last few days at Woking Hospice, before she died peacefully on the morning of the 10th February. Emily and her family recieved support both before and after her mother's death, and it inspired her to trek Machu Picchu to raise funds for the hospice, so other familes can benefit from this care too.
"It's because of the hugely positive experience my whole family have had that I feel so passionate about helping to raise awareness about hospice care.
Woking & Sam Beare Hospices provide care to thousands of Surrey families like mine each year, but they cannot continue to do so unless we support them.
I trekked Machu Picchu - what will you do?
I hope you'll be inspired to make a difference. Thank you."
