Our team of CNSs specialise in life-limiting illnesses. They work with our medical team who are specialists in Palliative Medicine, together with other healthcare professionals that includes: Counsellors, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Complementary Therapists (massage, aromatherapy, reflexology and relaxation). We also cater for patients’ religious and spiritual preferences, as well as delivering counselling for our patients and their families, including child bereavement services and school support programmes.
How we care for patients and their carers and families is led by their wishes. Depending on individual circumstance, once you have referred a patient to us, their care might be delivered as an in-patient on our ward at Woking Hospice or in the community in their own home, care home or nursing home. All patients have the opportunity to use our Wellbeing Centre that provides them with a social setting and access to a range of therapies, complementary therapies and treatments.
We strive to offer patients, their carers and families the best in care and support through a range of services that include: nursing care; medical care; symptom support; support with nutrition; counselling; physiotherapy; occupational therapy; complementary therapy, such as massage and reflexology; spiritual care; information and support on a range of practical matters that might include financial support for example. We also deliver counselling for family members, including child bereavement services and school support programmes.
What we deliver for patients, their carers and families is coordinated with you as a GP, District Nurse or other healthcare professional
