Entries for the 2019 Swim Serpentine event have now closed.
If you would like to be added to our list of interested potential participants for the 2020 event please contact Krista in our Community and Events Team on the details below – we’d love to have you with us.
Organised by London Marathon Events, the festival is held every September in and around the beautiful Serpentine in Hyde Park, the venue for the open water swimming competition at the London 2012 Olympic Games. You can choose to swim 1/2 mile, 1 mile or 2 miles in aid of our hospice.
What will I receive from taking a 2020 hospice place?
As a hospice swimmer you will receive: practical fundraising support and materials for your efforts from the events team, a Woking & Sam Beare Hospices t-shirt and lots of encouragement!
I have my own place in one of the 2019 Swim Serpentine distances and I want to swim in aid of the hospice. What do I do?
Please contact Krista in the Events Team for us to support you and your fundraising efforts for our charity.
Your fundraising will help to provide our care to around 2,000 patients, their families and carers in the local community. It costs the charity:
- £24 for one hour of care for one in-patient on the Ward
- £56 for one hour of care for one patient in the community
- £409 an hour to run the Ward
- £816 an hour to deliver our care and support through the Community Team
