Richard is Managing Director of his local family business, Trident Honda. Richard has worked in the Motor Trade and Fuel Retailing business for over 30 years, having started as a management trainee and is now a freehold owner getting involved in development opportunities.
Trident Honda have sponsored numerous Hospice-led Events over the years and he his family have fundraised for the Hospice over several decades.
Richard lives locally and is married with two children.
Peter has been a Trustee since August 2015.
Before joining the Hospice Board as a Trustee, Peter retired from a long international career in the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry. During his career he gained considerable commercial, economic and business administration experience at senior levels having held multiple business leadership roles within the private sector.
Peter has active roles in the Hospices’ Finance and Sustainability Committee and Governance Committee.
Peter lives with his family locally and has been a supporter for many years.
Rhod Lofting BA DL
Rhod is our Founder and Lifetime President.
Rhod retired from Esso after 32 years’ service, during which time he also served 12 years as a Borough Councillor and launched the appeal to fund building the original Woking Hospice when he became Mayor in 1990. He raised £1.4million to build and open the Hospice at Hill View Road, Woking, in 1996 and to conserve funds he also ran the Hospice as a volunteer for the first three years.
Rhod remained as Board Chairman until 2007, then stood down to continue as a Trustee until the end of 2019.
Rhod’s wife Elizabeth is also a long-standing supporter of the Hospice.
Tim joined the Board in March 2017 and has served as Chairman since July 2018.
A communications professional, Tim enjoyed a career in the construction materials industry of over 30 years with multinational companies RMC Group and CEMEX, working in the areas of strategic corporate communications, public affairs and sustainability. He left in 2011 to establish his own company, Tim Stokes Consulting Limited.
A member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Tim is a Freeman of the City of London, a Liveryman of the Plaisterers Livery Company and Director of Plaisterers Hall Limited. He is a Governor of Woking College and is Woking Borough Council’s ‘Independent Person’.
Tim lives locally and is married with two children.
Marc has been a Trustee since September 2012.
Marc is a chartered surveyor and town planner and has worked in the property industry for some thirty years. Previously a partner of a regional property consultancy firm, Marc now runs several development companies delivering office, industrial, retail and residential schemes in and around the south-east.
Marc was Chairman of our Board of Trustees prior to Tim Stokes but has remained a Board Member since hand over the reins.
Marc lives locally and is married with two children.
