    Assistant Manager – Egham Emporium

    NEW EXCITING OPPORTUNITY for an experienced retailer to assist in the setting up and running of a brand new stunning shop close to the new development in Egham High Street.

    We are looking for someone who has a passion for retail and is an environmentally conscious fashionista. Excellent customer service is at the heart of everything we represent in our retail teams and you will be part of a team who is inspirational in its approach to working with our volunteers and customers.

    You will enjoy working in a large busy shop, being active on the sales floor, possess selling skills and relish interacting with customers and volunteers. You will also be able to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and meet the needs of customers and donors in order to maximise sales.

    You will assist the Shop Manager in the running of the shop and undertake all duties as instructed by the Manager in support of achieving the shop’s budget and ensuring the best possible customer experience.

    Woking and Sam Beare Hospice raises money to support people living through the challenges of life-limiting and terminal illnesses in North West Surrey – 80% of our care is at home in the local community. This is a very rewarding role that can really make a difference.

    This post is subject to the successful completion of acquiring a new property and therefore any offer of employment will be subject to this.

    The Egham shop is easily commutable from surrounding areas. This is a 37.5 hours per week position which includes weekend working on a rotational basis.

    You will be responsible for the overall running of the shop, which includes staffing (inclusive of volunteers) to maintain trading hours, managing donation and goods in, stock rotation, pricing and Gift Aid contribution. The overall objective is to maximize income for the Hospice. As a result you will work closely with the Marketing and Fundraising teams on promotions and other collaborations.

    Meeting all safety standards within the shop forms an important part of the role and this includes ensuring all your staff and volunteers follow all Health & Safety best practice procedures and are compliant with all mandatory training.

    Assistant Store Manager – Woking

    Are you passionate about customer service and do you have retail management experience?  Reporting to the Store Manager you will be an Assistant Manager of our shop at Woking.  You must be positive and proactive with great communication skills and the ability to inspire a team of staff and volunteers.

    With an eye for detail, strong visual, and selling skills, high standards are really important to you. You will have the opportunity to enjoy working in a busy store, being active on the sales floor with our retail volunteers and interacting with our customers and acting as an ambassador for Woking Sam Beare Hospice. Our stores are often the first port of call for the public and our supporters therefore a fabulous customer experience in store is key.

    Tasks will include sorting donations of goods, pricing, assisting with floor layouts and window dressing and an opportunity to support our growth in online sales for the right candidate.

    Retail Volunteers

    Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care is a patient-led charity that delivers specialist palliative care to people who have advanced life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their carers and families.

    Each year we care for around 2,000 patients, their carers and families. Over 70% of our care is delivered across Surrey in the community and we now have a fabulous new hospice in Woking.

    You can make a big impact on our shops, helping raise vital funds for the Hospice and ensure the smooth operating of our retail shops.  The opportunities are varied, from working behind the scenes to ensure the donations are sorted and priced ready for sale, to customer-facing on the till.   We are currently looking for shop volunteers in the following areas and days-
