Tributes & Online Remembrance

onlineOur Personalised Online Tribute Funds are one of the many ways you can celebrate and remember a loved one’s life. You, your family, friends and colleagues can honour the life and memory of someone special in a beautiful way by personalising the page with photographs, music, messages, lighting candles and also raising money for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices. Donations can be made on important dates, as a one off instead of sending flowers or through a fundraising event. The money you raise will help us to continue to provide support free of care to others through difficult times.

Nicky Duke and her family set up a Tribute in memory of her mum, Yo Duke – “When we were told mum had 2 weeks left to live we asked for her to be admitted into a hospice rather than spending her final days on a hospital ward (where we currently were). When mum was moved to Sam Beare Hospice, Weybridge we were so grateful and felt a huge sense of relief to meet such caring staff and to be in such a peaceful environment. I remember crying when the ambulance arrived, sadness that this was her last journey but mainly happiness that if it had to be this way then it was a beautiful place to be. Immediately we decided that we would do all we could to raise money to allow others to have the same opportunity that our family had to be together to say our goodbyes”.

Mum’s funeral was a celebration of her life and we used this as an opportunity to start fundraising which is when we were made aware of the Tribute page on the Woking & Sam Beare website. This page has allowed us to make it easy for people to donate by sharing it on social media. We love the fact that we can put pictures and music on and that people can share their happy memories on there. The page is brilliant as we are notified of any donations and can see what we have raised as an incentive to keep on going! I would recommend tribute pages to everyone, it gives you something to focus on and the money raised makes a difference to someone’s family and memories.”

Mark Boast set up a Tribute Fund in memory of his wife, Helen Boast – “The Tribute memorial site, which I have been posting messages on since my lovely wife, Helen Boast passed away, has been a huge help in the grieving process for me.

I can write thoughts and download pictures, light candles and generally say what’s on my mind. At the moment, the pages I post on are private, which suits me, because I like to use it to reflect on and remember her. There will come a time when I allow it to go public, so that friends and the wider family can add their thoughts and photos. I think this site is a terrific tool in the process of coming to terms with the loss of a loved one.”
