Strictly Come Fundraising
Entec Access Systems Ltd swapped their usual business of the supply and manufacture of automatic doors and shop fronts for a taste of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, when they held a Charity Social Dance to raise money for us.
The event held in Kingston raised £1,350 through ticket sales and raffle prizes, with some of the prizes being donated by local companies.
Our Hospices are close to the hearts of Owner Mandy Barclay-Hicks and Marketing Manager Jacqui Edwards, whose Mothers were both cared for in Sam Beare Hospice. “This has been the most rewarding event I have ever organised, because it has given me the opportunity to give something back,” said Jacqui.
A keen dancer herself, she pulled out all the stops to make it a fantastic and memorable event, which featured professional dancers Adelmo and Leah, who appeared with the dance troupe Kings & Queens on the 2014 Britain’s Got Talent.
Corporate Fundraiser Anita Avery accept the cheque and said “we’re absolutely delighted that Entec Access Systems have chosen us as their ‘Charity of Choice’ for 2014/15. Mandy and Jacqui have been so proactive and really got stuck into their fundraising supporting us in a variety of ways, they are such a pleasure to work with!”
Entec Access Systems, based in Staines, have pledged to raise £3,000 for Woking & Sam Beare Hospices over 2 years and in just 6 months they have already raised almost £2,000. Their staff have now swapped their dancing shoes for trainers, as they are busy preparing for the Santa Fun Run on the 7th December 2014.
