Foundations cement their support for hospice care
Foundations, local independent Estate Agents in Woking, have officially launched their partnership with Woking & Sam Beare Hospices, which will see our charity receive a donation for each completed property sale. Directors, Les Morales and Gero Arnone, welcomed Chief Executive Nigel Harding at the company’s High Street office, to discuss how their support will benefit the Hospices in the future.
“My mother used to work for Woking Hospice, so when we were looking for a local charity to support it was an obvious choice for me,” explained Mr Morales. “We are lucky to have such an amazing organisation right on our doorstep and I am really keen to support and promote the good work that they do,” added Mr Morales, who has been working as an Estate Agent in Woking for the past 24 years. Nine years ago he set up Foundations together with Gero Arnone, and the family run business has since gone from strength to strength. The fact that the charity is now refurbishing a building in Goldsworth Park to create a new state-of-the art hospice was another reason why Mr Morales wanted to support the charity. “I like that the Hospices are evolving and building a new vision for end-of –life care in the area. It is an exiting time and we’re proud to help secure the foundations of this with our partnership.”
Woking & Sam Beare Hospice Chief Executive Nigel Harding was touched by Mr Morales personal connection to the charity and expressed his gratitude for the generous partnership; “It is thanks to local support like this that we can continue to offer the vital care we give to patients and their families across the whole of North West Surrey. Our new hospice building and reconstruction of services are a necessity for our community as we plan for the future, but it is also important to remember that in addition to the construction costs, we still deliver care 24/7 to our patients in the heart of Surrey at a cost of over £8 million each year. A commitment like the one Foundations has given us is essential as it will allow us to plan ahead.”
