Day Care Unit
Our Day Care Units provide a valuable support framework for patients who are able to live at home, but need additional help. 
The units offer a weekly visit to a warm, caring environment, where time is available to talk about any concerns.
Patients are referred by their GP, Community Nurse or District Nurse. Day patients are assessed by the medical team to identify their needs and interests. A treatment plan for their visits is then agreed with the patient, and periodically reviewed.
In Woking Hospice our Day Care Unit is located in a lovely part of the main hospice building. We have a large area for group activities a dining area, and conservatory overlooking the rockery garden.
In Sam Beare Hospice, Weybridge the Richard Jenner Day Care Unit is a bright, large room with a dining area and a conservatory opening onto the courtyard.
All meals and refreshments at both Hospices are included, with homemade cake in the afternoons. Transport can also be provided. Our activities range from those to keep your mind active, bathing, nursing advice, complementary therapies, to having a laugh and trying new things. We have outside speakers, day trips, discussions, quizzes and are always open to new suggestions.
A family atmosphere gives everyone a strong sense of belonging. Spending a day with us will also give your family and carers the chance to have a day off and know that you are being well looked after.
