Winners of Christmas Cakes

14 January 2010

The two winners of the 'Guess the weight' and 'Guess the name' cake competition held in the Hospice shop in the Peacocks were announced before Christmas so that they could enjoy their winnings.

The actual weight of the cake was 8lb 2½ oz (or 3.7kgs).The closest to this, and our winner, was Mary Sheargold.

The winning name of the snowman cake was FROSTY. There were several suggestions for this name but the one picked out of the hat was from Harry Bear.  Well done Harry!

Our sincere thanks to all those who entered these competitions which made £92 between them, and especially to Norma Wilson who made these wonderful cakes and donated them in memory of her brother Ian Harber.
