Summer Raffle Prize Draw winner

A First Prize cheque of £2500 has been awarded to regular raffle player Irene Watson, aged 69, of Goldsworth Park, after our Summer Raffle prize draw took place.

As a supporter of the Hospices, Irene takes items to the Hospice Shop for resale and she also raises funds in her position as Chairman of the Hall in Goldsworth Park; recently donating £250 from bar sales following the Dragon Boat Fun Day on 3rd July.

Irene was “thrilled to win” as she hasn’t won anything for 15 years, when she won a helicopter ride on a raffle. Irene said that she will spend the money on something that she wouldn’t usually purchase, such as a big TV or an electric bicycle.

The second prize winner was Mrs Tina Hutchinson from Bisley, who is also very happy to have won. She has supported the Hospices for years; she has two regular Lottery numbers with us and has also supported our raffles for many years.

Tina said: “I support the Hospices because a close friend passed away in Woking Hospice several years ago and I recently lost my Mother to cancer.  Being a nurse myself, I know first-hand how much the hospice services are needed by people in our community.”

Our Raffles and Lottery are popular choices for supporters wanting to make an ongoing contribution to the hospices. During the Summer Raffle, over 17,000 tickets were sold and alongside the cost of the ticket there were also a lot of generous donations.

The Hospice Lottery Bumper Draw launches in November with a prize total of £2017. All profits will go directly to patient care. For more information visit or contact
