Sam Beare Ball raises £40,000
A total of nearly 40,000 pounds was raised at the first Sam Beare Hospice Ball held at the prestigious Mercedes Benz World on Saturday. We would like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors and everyone that came along and supported the event.
Guests included Max Clifford, patron of the Hospice and his wife Jo, Theo Paphitis and his wife Debbie and the Mayor of Elmbridge Councillor James Vickers. They enjoyed a champagne reception while chatting with supporters of the Weybridge based Hospice. Dinner was served on the first floor with stunning views across the Mercedes circuit. The floral display centre pieces set the mauve and silver theme with a calla lily and aliums, together with white Gerberas.
Entertainment was supplied by West End Story who performed extracts from West End shows and the auction included the chance to bid for VIP tickets to the Royal Variety Performance, this prize alone raising £9,600!
Max commented “It was a brilliant night and a huge success thanks to the hard work and organisation skills of Sue Spencer, events Manager at the Hospice. In fact it was such a successful night, that people are now clambering for another one before Christmas, proof of just how much everyone enjoyed themselves.”
Theo added “Saturday’s event was a tremendous evening that was very well supported by the local community. We need to continue helping the Sam Beare Hospice, Weybridge so that the people working there can provide their invaluable assistance to patients, their families and the community as a whole.”
If this sounds like an evening you would like to attend then consider attending the Dove Ball, held at Wentworth on Saturday 29th November 2010. Full details will be available shortly.
