Ready for a Challenge?

If your new year’s resolution is to get fit or challenge yourself then why not sign up for one of our 2017 fundraising events.

As part of Team WSB you will get unlimited support, advice and guidance to help you reach your goal. We will send you a fundraising pack crammed full of ideas, a t-shirt or running vest to wear with pride on your big day and for some events we also offer pre and post race gatherings.

On the 11th February you can experience the biggest adrenaline rush of your life by completing a ‘Leap for Love’ tandem skydive for us. Feel the free fall rush at 125mph from 10,000ft or 15,000ft above the ground. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience. In the words of Thomas Buckingham, “The Skydive was epic! I would do it again and again and highly recommend it others. The whole experience was amazing and the views were spectacular.” Read more here.

Surrey Half 2015 edit2If you’d rather stay closer to the ground, then we have several running events this spring, such as the Weybridge 10K, on the 5th March, or the Surrey Half Marathon on the 12th March.

The 13.1 mile route of the Surrey Half will be starting and finishing at Woking Leisure Centre, just down the road from our Woking Hospice. This event will have you running through scenic country roads from Woking to Guildford and back again. If you book one of our Surrey Half Marathon places before February you can secure it for only £11! (normal price £22). Simply select a January Offer place on our events page and then fill in the registration form.

If you would rather experience an extraordinary challenge overseas, then join us for a breath-taking 5 day trek in the Annapurna region of Nepal, followed by volunteering at a local hospice, where you will be helping with tasks such as gardening, painting and decorating.

Nepal 27th 78 webYou will be visiting Nepal from the 7th to the 18th October and be trekking around 5-8 hours a day, depending on the average group pace. You will be covering approximately 8-15km per day which equivalents to 5-10miles. It will be a challenge but a very worthwhile one, as every mile you trek will be helping us continue to provide our top quality palliative care. Find out more here.

We also have wide range of other trekking events and of course cycling events which you can see in our full Challenge Events list.

We look forward to welcoming you to Team WSB in 2017!
