Meet the Woking Santas!
04 December 2011
Did you see the Santas and Christmas characters in Woking on Sunday? Over 200 individulas took part in our Santa Fun Run.
It was a really family affair, with our youngest participants being pushed round and our eldest a spritely 87 year old who completed the full 5K course!
Motorists and shoppers were in good spirits, with many donating as hundreds of Santas ran past. Victoria Wright and Megan Hewitt dressed up in reindeer and snowman suits to run in memory of Steve Wright, Victoria's father and Megan's step-father who lost his battle with kidney cancer in 2009. The Ford family from Woking took part to support their local Hospice and children Chloe and Joshua were very proud to complete the full.
Thank you to Maureen McLean for taking photos on the day. To view the full range or to purchase prints visit www.maureenmcleanphotography.com
Nigel Harding, Chief Executive started the fun run and priased everyone taking part saying "This event has bought all ages together in support of the Hospice and I am sure the hundreds of Santas in the High Street will raise awareness of Woking Hospice.Thank to everyonbe that took part."
Over £10,000 was pledged on the day which will help support our patients over the Christmas period.
