Marathon Winners announced live

Last week, a live Facebook stream made the days of six lucky applicants, all who were hoping to secure a place in the 2017 London Marathon as part of Team WSB, by entering the WSB Hospices ballot. Challenge Events Fundraiser, Danni Pulido-Lopera was joined by Hope the Heart to announce the winners live, and you can see a recording of the announcement here.

All candidates were considered based on the level of commitment they showed during the application process. The successful applicants were called out to the cheers of the onlooking Fundraising team and are as follows:

Claire Stephenson
Daniel Searles
Emma Mason
Estellar Killeen-McGuirk
Joanne Whitelock
Paul Daniel Crowley

Congratulations to the select few runners and good luck as you train for your 2017 marathon!

Unsuccessful applicants have been encouraged to enter into the Surrey Half Marathon on behalf of the Hospices, and have all been offered free entry. They can also run the same distance or more than a marathon in one of our action challenge events, Thames Path Challenge or South Coast challenge where you can choose whether to walk, jog or run 25,50 or 100 km.
