As our Horsell shop celebrates its 20th anniversary we mark over 100 years of volunteer service

Our Horsell shop at 111A High Street, which is one of our inaugural stores to have opened, has just celebrated its 20th anniversary, marked with an in-store celebration and very special presentation.

The Horsell shop’s birthday was also the anniversary of some of our longest serving volunteers, who have supported Woking & Sam Beare Hospices for a combined 100 years [just over]. Six long serving volunteers were presented with flowers and chocolates who had given 22, 20, 20, 17, 14 and 11 years to our charity.

Jayne Cooper, Interim CEO and Director of Nursing, commented: “As a patient-centred charity that delivers specialist palliative care to adults of all ages and their families we could not do what we do free of charge to the thousands we help without a very vital group of people – our volunteers. These exceptional individuals give their time, support and passion to help us raise funds through our shops and support our other fundraising activities, as well as support our patient services. On behalf of all of us at Woking & Sam Beare Hospices our sincerest thanks.”
