Golf Day raises over £21,000 for Hospices

English footballing legends Glenn Hoddle, Ray Clemence, Paul Walsh and Paul Jones were amongst the golfers who turned out to support Woking & Sam Beare Hospices’ third annual Golf Tournament at the iconic Wentworth Golf Club.

15 teams of golfers from all across the country came to take part and fuelled by a full English breakfast, they tackled the Edinburgh Course before sitting down to enjoy a 3 course meal in the evening, compered by famous comedian Adger Brown. The event was supported by Vinay Relan and Neil Blythe of Foam Techniques Ltd, who were the main sponsors of the event and also entered a team of their own.

Managing Director of Proflex Ltd, Mr George Collacott was the Captain of the winning team who were all delighted to receive the Wentworth Woking & Sam Beare Hospices Trophy, which will be engraved with the team members names and kept in the cabinets of the club until next year. All members of the team also received smaller versions of the magnificent Claret Jug Trophy to display in their offices.

Anita Avery, Corporate Fundraiser at the Hospices said “The tournament raised an amazing £21,365 and we hope that next year the tournament will be even bigger and better! We would like to thank everyone who participated and contributed but particularly Paul and Annette Jones, Vinay Relan and Mike Blythe of Foam Techniques Ltd as well as the club itself which never fails to impress. A fantastic day was had by all and we look forward to hosting the event once again next year.”
