Emergency Appeal reaches £445,000
04 January 2010
A total of 445,000 pounds in additional funds have been raised by the first phase of the Hospices Emergency Appeal.
The Emergency Appeal launched in October after day care services at both our Hospices were suspended has received huge support from both communities. In a press release this week Chris Flemington the Hospices Chief Executive said the following:
"I would personally like to thank all volunteers, staff, groups, organisations and all those who have done something to help ensure that our service to the community continues. We will need to review the income levels in January and February, if the funding levels continue we may be able to consider a partial re-opening of the day care services. However we must remain cautious and it is paramount that phase 2 of our Emergency Appeal to raise a further £600,000 for both Hospices by the end of March 2010 is sustained to continue the current level of service."
