Household collections benefit Hospices

Elmbridge Council’s Clothes+ collection service have donated over £830 to the Hospices. The money was saved on donating unwanted household items such as clothes and books to the British Heart Foundation instead of paying to dispose of them.

In total over £2,500 was saved, which was split between Woking & Sam Beare Hospices, Oasis Children’s Charity and Walsingham Care.

Our Head of Community Fundraising, Rosie Gibbons, accepted the cheque from Elmbridge Council’s Portfolio Holder for Environment Councillor Glenn Dearlove.

Don’t forget, our charity shops also accept small household electricals, as well as unwanted clothes and books. Our Knaphill based warehouse has an excellent recycling rate, and anything that is unsuitable to be resold in any of our 17 shops, will if possible be recycled and that way still raises funds for us.
