Christmas comes early at annual Gift & Craft Fair

The popular Christmas Gift & Craft Fair was back once again this year at the Woking Leisure Centre, on Sunday 15th November. There was something for everyone with a whole host of stalls selling everything from stocking fillers and gifts to beauty products and home décor.

Keeping the kids entertained and adding to the festive atmosphere was a Santa Search and a Santa’s Grotto as well as fun face painting. The Grotto complete with Santa Claus and decorations was kindly provided by Squires Garden Centre in Woking, who will be holding their very own Santa’s Grotto later this month from which any donations will go towards the Hospices. Other attractions at the Fair included a massive chocolate tombola which was almost sold out within a few hours and the chance to buy tickets for our annual Lottery Bumper Draw with a 1st prize jackpot of £2016. There was also mulled wine and mince pies and local choirs singing popular Christmas songs to get shoppers in the festive mood.

Danielle Le Cuirot, Events Fundraising Manager said “There was a lovely atmosphere today, it was great to see shoppers and stallholders who have always come along to support this event as well as lots of new people and we hope everyone who came had an enjoyable day! We’d like to say a big thank you to our team of hard working volunteers and also to Squires Garden Centre, Woking for providing the Santa’s Grotto and to M&S Brooklands for providing the mince pies for the event. We hope to have raised lots of money and look forward to our other events over the Christmas period.”
