Celebrating over 900 years’ service
The 49 volunteers that Founder Rhod Lofting and CEO Jayne Cooper presented a symbol of the hospice’s thanks to total more than 900 years’ service, which is outstanding.
Jayne Cooper, CEO of Woking & Sam Beare Hospices, commented: “We could not do all we do without this incredible group of people, who give us their time and support to help us care for patients, manage our reception, support our events and community team, run our shops, look after our gardens; the list is endless. Our volunteers are critical. We value and appreciate every single person who supports us, but it is particularly humbling to be presenting to those that have been with us so many years – thank you.”
We has now been open for patients in your new state-of-the-art hospice in Goldsworth Park Centre since May. As the gardens are completed by RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Award Winner Charlotte Harris and the café opens to the public, the finishing touches to this fantastic new facility are really starting to come together. But like so many other charities, we are reliant on voluntary income and supporters such as its volunteers enable us to care for over 1,400 patients who have life-limiting and terminal illness each year.
We are always happy to meet new individuals who would like to share their skills by volunteering in a number of available roles. Whether you wish to gain work experience, meet new people and/or give something back to your community, you can give huge value to Woking & Sam Beare Hospices.
