Bond themed Dove Ball has license to thrill

Woking & Sam Beare Hospices hosted their annual Dove Ball on Saturday 21st November at the prestigious Wentworth Golf Club and raised over £23,000. Taking on a James Bond theme, guests looked forward to an evening of glamour and spectacular entertainment as they arrived at the sparkling reception, featuring a red carpet complete with paparazzi and an Aston Martin DB9.

Guests were greeted with a welcoming drink as pianist Daniel Green provided some light entertainment during the reception and the Ballroom was transformed for a truly stylish and unforgettable evening, where guests sat down to enjoy the delicious three course meal with wine, followed by coffee and confection.

There was plenty to keep everyone entertained throughout the night with live music from Soul and Motown singer JD Fitzgerald, a Bond themed photobooth, a live auction, casino tables and a dancefloor. Cutting edge magician Tom Silburn also featured at the event showcasing his sophisticated magic tricks using everything from cards, coins, bottles and wine glasses to items borrowed from guests.

The live auction alone raised over £8,000 with prizes including VIP tickets to see artists Madonna, Simply Red and Status Quo in concert, a framed McLaren t-shirt and cap signed by Formula 1 drivers Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen, a Bond poster signed by Dame Judi Dench and the top prize of a stay at the Rickety Bridge Winery in South Africa which went for £2,700.
