£20,000 Boost for Sam Beare!

Sam Beare Hospice received a financial boost from a group of men who took on the challenge of cycling to Cannes in the south of France. CYCLE TO MIPIM is an annual 1,500km bike ride from London to Cannes arriving in time for MIPIM, the leading international real estate fair. Knight Frank Commercial Property Consultants were keen to get involved and in March 2014 ‘The magnificent Knight Frank 7’ consisting of Peter Gray, William Beardmore-Gray, Nicholas Codling, Rory Paton, Will Monk, John Williams, Tim Carter and John Williams set off. The team cycled the 1,500km in 6 days, some completing over 200 miles a day and for Peter, who lives in Weybridge, it was something he undertook in memory of his wife Anne. She had been cared for by Sam Beare Hospice and raised thousands of pounds before her untimely death in 2013.

Peter told us “All of the Knight Frank guys have been fantastic in supporting the Sam Beare Hospice and many of our sponsors made a particular point of mentioning what great work the team provide. Everyone put a huge amount of effort into undertaking the cycle challenge and Anne would have been absolutely delighted, and so proud, of the huge commitment made by the riders and the amazing £20,000 raised for her favourite cause.”

A drinks reception was held in Knight Franks London office and a presentation made to Corporate Fundraiser Anita Avery and Lorraine Weedon, Marketing and Communications Manager.
