Hospice User Group
Woking Hospice User Group ( HUG ) was set up in April 2005 as part of the Clinical Governance Strategy for the Hospice. It is comprised of self selected representatives from patients, carers, volunteers and staff. It is chaired by one of the hospice volunteers and meets bi-monthly at Woking Hospice.
Members of the group are representatives of all those involved in the Hospice, and as such aim to provide different perspectives on the day to day and longer term issues relating to the services provided by the Hospice. Discussions relate to the planning, developing, monitoring and fundraising of the services.
Its objectives are –
- To improve the services offered by Woking Hospice for patients, carers and their families
- To identify and address issues as they arise, which may affect people using the services.
- To evaluate the progress and impact of the group.
The HUG seeks input from all those who have involvement with the hospice now or have done so in the past and will be pleased to discuss or address issues of concern regarding the service provided by the Hospice.
The HUG for Woking Hospice is not static and welcomes new members and we are also in the process of setting up a HUG at Sam Beare Hospice.
