Meet the lucky £1,000 winners
Every week we give away 25 prizes in our weekly lottery. Here are some of the £1,000 winners.
09.09.11 Mrs Khan from Brookwood
Mrs Khan
is pictured with Mel Keenan, Manager of the Woking Hospice Furniture shop in Knaphill High Street. Mrs Khan is going to use her winnings to buy a new bed for her 9 year old daughter Sabina and a new carpet.
Mrs Khan, a regular visitor to the shop, said ‘the lovely people in the shop make me feel so welcome. It’s like a second home. I always find something to buy if not for me then for other members of my family.’
02.09.11 Mrs Howe from Weybridge
As a regular player of the Hospices Lottery Mrs Howe took up an invitation to increase her weekly chances to 3. She was overjoyed to be told that one of her new numbers had scooped the £1000 top prize in the draw on 2nd September.
Mrs Howe is pictured with Sam Beare Administration Manager Anne Bliss in the courtyard at Sam Beare Hospice. Mrs Howe said that she takes part in the weekly Hospice Lottery ‘to do my bit to make sure that others can receive the same wonderful care as my husband John did.’
13.08.11 Ronald Giffin from Staines

ctured at Laleham Golf Club telling 2010 Ladies’ Captain Dawn Bailey of his recent £1000 win in our Lottery.
Dawn & Ronald talked of the National Lottery and agreed that the WSB Lottery is ‘where the smart money is.’ Ronald said ’you know where the money is going and of course there’s the bonus of far better odds.’
Ronald has taken part in the Lottery since his wife Judy sadly passed away after ovarian cancer. He regularly plays at Laleham Golf Club whose members, to date, have generously raised over £6000 for the Sam Beare Hospice.
29.07.11 Jackie Fletcher from West Byfleet

Jackie visits the West Byfleet Shop on a weekly basis to have a look round and chat to staff. She also buys a single lottery ticket for just £1 and was thrilled to pick up the 1st prize of £1,000. Jackie said " Having worked for Surrey County Council social care team I know what a difference good care makes so like to support the Hospice when I can." Jackie was presented the cheque by Shop Manager, Lisa Haigh.
08.07.11 Mr Rowland Hurley from Woking
Mr Hurley aged 70 joined in July 2010 when a lottery leaflet popped through the door as part of our volunteer mail drop. He is thrilled with the £1,000 win and was presented the cheque by Mary Lacey, Director of Fundraising.

01.07.11 Miss Frost from Woking
Miss Frost has played the Lottery since 2006 & this is her first win. She picked up a leaflet at Menzies, Woking Accountants and was taking more forms back to spread the word.

Dawn Baker was bought a gift voucher by her father and scooped £1,000 to share with her family. Lottery Gift Vouchers are great for all occasions and would offer an ideal gift for Fathers day gift on 19th June.
18.03.11 Sara Smith from Knaphill
Staff Nurse Madelina Barlos presents the cheque
Student Social Worker, Sara was delighted to collect her £1,000 cheque. She has her final dissertation in September and will now aim to take a well earned holiday. Sara joined the lottery after doing some of her training at Sam Beare and has also taken part in the Midnight Walk.

Bumper New Year Draw 31.12.10
Lucy Warner from Woking was the lucky winner of our Bumper New Year Draw. She is a regular supporter of our Hospices visiting the retail shops and buying raffle tickets. Lucy has suffered a very difficult year personally, with the loss of both her father and grandfather. Her grandfather was cared for by the teams at Sam Beare Hospice throughout his illness. Lucy will be sharing the win with her mother and sister.

03.12.10 Louisa Wells from Walton
Louisa who lives in Walton is a supporter of Sam Beare Hospice was very grateful for the win just in time for Christmas. She said "I am a great believer in the Hospice network and I think the Hospice lottery offers a way of giving, with a chance to win. I am please to support such a deserving cause and I am thrilled to actually win."
