Training

Come and learn with us

Woking & Sam Beare Hospices have been approved as a training establishment by Surrey University and Maastricht University. The hospices put a strong emphasis on continuing education for all its staff. The majority of the Staff Nurses have undertaken specialist qualifications in palliative care, and nearly all the Health Care Assistants have undertaken National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) at Level 3.

The Hospices offer palliative care experience to medical students and qualified doctors and nurses from overseas (such as the Netherlands and Kenya) and is a training area for student nurses and qualified nurses from Surrey University who gain experience in this area of care.
